LCBP Phase 2 Grants for the Public & Not-for-Profit Sectors

Filsol’s solar water heating systems and nationwide network of installers are fully accredited under the terms of the Low Carbon Buildings Programme (LCBP) Phase 2 scheme. This means our systems are eligible for grants of up to 50% of the total purchase and installation costs.

The LCBP Phase 2 scheme provides capital grant funding for the installation of various microgeneration technologies by organisations in the UK public and not-for-profit sectors, including housing associations, local authorities, schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, public service organisations and registered charities.

Funding still available for solar water heating...

The Government has announced that the remaining finite funds available through the LCBP Phase 2 scheme will be focussed on thermal (heat generating) microgeneration technologies, including solar water heating. It is hoped that funds will continue to be available for solar water heating up until the introduction of the Renewable Heat Incentives (RHIs) scheduled for April 2011.

... But no grants available for solar PV

However, new applications for LCBP Phase 2 grants for solar photovoltaic (PV) installations will no longer be accepted as of 3rd February 2010. Financial incentives for the installation of solar PV systems will now be provided by the Feed-In Tariffs (FITs) scheme which is due for launch on 1st April 2010.

FIT payments for LCBP Phase 2 PV installations...

Public sector and not-for-profit organisations which received a grant under LCBP Phase 2 after 15 July 2009 have the choice of either: retaining their grant and not being eligible for FITs; or repaying their grant and claiming FITs.

Those who received a LCBP-2 grant before 15th July cannot claim the full feed in tariff. However, up to 31st March 2010 they may be able to apply to Ofgem for a ROC, to qualify for the lower tariff of 9p/kWh, as well as the 3p/kWh export tariff.

Filsol provide a full grant application service to assist in securing the maximum funding available through LCBP Phase 2, as well as any other grant schemes at both national and regional levels.
