Funding for Solar
Filsol provide full advice and support in assisting with applications for any grants and other financial incentives which may be available.
The principal forms of Government grant funding are delivered through the Low Carbon Buildings Programme (LCBP) which is divided into two separate schemes as follows:
- LCBP Phase 1 - For homeowners
- LCBP Phase 2 - For organisations in the public and not-for-profit sectors
Filsol's solar water heating systems and nationwide network of installers are fully accredited under the terms of both Phase 1 and 2 of the LCBP scheme. LCBP grants for solar water heating will continue to be available for the forseeable future, until they are replaced by the Renewable Heat Incentives (RHIs) scheduled for introduction in April 2011.
Note that the LCBP scheme closed to all new applications for grants for electrical microgeneration technologies, including solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, on 3rd February 2010. Financial support to assist in the installation of solar PV systems will now come in the form of Feed-In Tariffs (FITs) which are scheduled for launch on 1 April 2010.
